Inspired by Science – Verified by Science™
We designed our masks according to the science of fabric filtering and then tested and validated its quality in the lab. Most personal face masks do not take these steps to ensure the design and quality of their masks.
A Better Personal Face Mask Design Inspired by Science
Our mask design is based on scientific research of cloth fabrics that tested a wide range of them to determine which may offer better personal protection for preventing the spread of diseases such as the COVID-19 virus. The research indicated that two types of fabric filters, mechanical and electrostatic, offer the best protection. These two types of filters are also found in N95 and surgical masks.
A Better Personal Face Mask Validated by Science
The University of Colorado – Boulder’s Vance Laboratory, an aerosol science and engineering lab, tested our mask and found that our mechanical and electrostatic filtering design was 2.6 times better than most cotton masks with only mechanical filtering. The test results also showed that it has superior breathability.
Our masks have three layers as shown in the diagram to the right. The mechanical outer layer is cotton. The two electrostatic layers are polyester and silk with the silk layer against the skin for comfort. The user can also insert an additional fabric or material of their choice for even more protection. This design makes our masks an excellent solution for personal, non-medical prevention of the spread of COVID-19, other diseases, and particulates in the air.
Our masks come in various colors that will be expanded over time. We have both adult and child masks in stock.
Each Q&J Face Mask is custom made by tailors and inspected rather than mass-produced by a machine to ensure a quality product that is also attractive to wear.
Washable and Reusable
Our masks can be washed and electrostatically recharged to be reused for an economical and environmentally friendly option to single-use, throw-away masks.
